Separate from possible Federal telemarketing fines, most states have state telemarketing fines that can apply for violation of local telemarketing laws. State fines exist for violating state Do Not Call laws, robocall laws, autodialer laws, failing to have a telemarketing license or surety bond, and many other telemarketing compliance mistakes.
Note that in addition to financial penalties, possible court injunctions and even criminal charges exist in some states. Florida is one example. In 2021, Florida amended its state telemarketing rules and fines to include a new private right to sue and criminal penalties for certain violations.
State telemarketing fine amounts change frequently so some of the below numbers may be slightly outdated.
